Welcome to Hanover Branch of the NAACP

Today, we face a renewed effort as the forces of racism and retrogression in America are again on the rise. Many of the hard-earned civil rights gains of the past three decades are under assault.

Miss Raven Giles

Miss. Raven Giles Recipient of 72ND ANNUAL STATE CONVENTION Queen/King Contest

2007 VSC Qween/King Contest WinnerThere are many people I want to thank for this award. I want to begin by thanking my parents for taking the time to help me with the fund raiser, taking me where I need to go, and encouraging me through it all. I want to thank my Church Family and friends for all their support, and my little brother for not bugging me. I also want to thank the Hanover County Branch NAACP and the Virginia State Conference NAACP for having established the awards and maintaining them for so many years, giving me this opportunity. It’s a wonderful honor to be among the many distinguished recipient.

Mr. and Mrs. GilesWe are very grateful to Hanover County Branch NAACP and the Virginia State Conference NAACP. We ’ve been especially fortunate to work with terrific committees. It’s a group that is highly professional, that works well together, and that stays focused on what’s important – the needs of our community, State, and other issues. We owe special thanks to my Grandfather the Late Pastor Dr. Bernard S. Giles, who work closely and continuously with the NAACP to fight for the rights and Freedom for all. That makes this Awards very special to us, and opportunity to give back to and origination that has given so much to so many.

My Little Brother just had to get in the picture.
